Kyla McCaig & Emily

Registered Massage Therapist

Please note: Kyla is visually impaired and her guide dog Emily may be present in the treatment room.

Kyla’s treatment style is more focused and incorporates osteopathic techniques that fall within the scope of practice for massage therapy. She rarely does full body relaxation style massage.

Kyla has been a registered massage therapist since 2010. She graduated from the 3000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. She has a wide range of experience with everything from athletes to pregnancy, post injury recovery to everyday tension. She enjoys neck and shoulder treatments, helping to reduce neck pain, headaches, migraines, TMJ dysfunction, and recover from head/neck injuries. Having taken many continuing education courses on prenatal and postpartum treatment, as well as experiencing pregnancy for herself multiple times she does have an interest in women’s health, pregnancy and new parent care.

Her studies in osteopathy over the past decade have influenced her practice. She integrates the philosophy and techniques such as craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, myofascial release, and joint mobilizations into her practice to help get to the root of pain and tension and promote healing. She has found this approach effective in treating a wide range of conditions, including;

Headaches and migraines

Joint pain and injuries

Neck, back, pelvic pain

Digestive issues

Stress and anxiety

As well as being gentle enough for babies and children.

When Kyla isn’t working or studying osteopathy, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her 4 children and her guide dog Emily.
