Pain Management

We're all about uncovering the root causes of your discomfort and crafting a personalized plan that's as unique as you are.

Chronic Pain

Many of us experience chronic pain in different forms on a daily basis. People have been trained by conventional medicine to look for a ‘band-aid,’ or instantaneous remedy for their pain by reaching out for painkillers. By focusing on finding the root causes of pain, we can tailor medicine to you and use it locally to reduce overall inflammation in the body. By controlling total inflammatory load, we can use regenerative injections to help the body rebuild itself.

Dr. Saffari commonly comes across the following conditions and enjoys treating them:

  • Back Pain

  • Neck and Shoulder Pain

  • Tension headaches

  • Piriformis syndrome

  • Sciatica

  • Scoliosis

Some of the treatments offered by Dr. Saffari:

Release of muscle pain through interactive patient‐guided trigger point therapy

  • Anesthetic injections into trigger points to help reset nerve patterns to change the way your nerves perceive pain

  • Ensuring proper alignment of the spine and joints through specific muscle work and adjustment

  • Prescribing compounded topical creams that locally targets inflammation and help reduce pain

Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point is a knot or tight band in the muscle that forms when muscle fails to relax. The knot can often be felt under the skin and may twitch involuntarily. The trigger point can trap or irritate surrounding nerves and cause referred pain - pain felt in another part of the body. Trigger point injections (TPI) involve injecting the affected neuromuscular trigger point with local anesthetic (e.g., lidocaine, procaine), to break the ongoing pattern, allowing the muscle to release and return to normal function.

Indications: Muscle spasm, tension and pain.
